Hi folks! » My name is Wojtek.

As he launched off the lip of the jump at Innsbruck’s Bergisel stadium during the 1976 Winter Olimpics, little did Tadeusz Pawlusiak know that exactly 10 years later his wife would be delivering another talented jumper into the world…

But that’s what happened a decade later in February ’86, when his son Wojtek landed in Bielsko Biala, Poland. The careless childhood in Wilkowice near Bielsko Biala where he lived, was the greatest time in little Wojtek’s life. Rock and tree climbing, soccer from dawn till dusk, sled’s during the winter and bike when the summer breeze came.. The growing youngster proved that he was far from frail, charging into sports like skiing, ski jumping, soccer, etc. at a young age.

From the day he was born, his family had been expecting him to follow his fathers ski tracks, which is why at the age of 14 he left home for sport school in Zakopane to begin the ski jumping real training. A lots of hard training, competitions and sports trips were the things which Wojtek was used to.

This was a very important time in young Wojtek’s short life: for the first time he was away from the family influence, and for the first time , he knew he didn’t want to be a ski jumper. “ I also knew I didn’t want to be a conventional person. I knew that I loved winter, mountains, freedom, speed, fun, adrenaline, etc. All of this, and a little more I found in SNOWBOARDING.”
